PERIKATAN Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin has no moral standing to make statements regarding the country’s current affairs, PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil said.
Fahmi said Muhyiddin has failed to aid the authorities in urging his son-in-law, Muhammad Adlan Berhan, to return and face criminal charges.
“Do not talk about Kuala Kubu Baharu or by-elections. Bring back your son-in-law and then you will be in a better position to talk,” said Fahmi in a Bernama report.
“As a leader, he (Muhyiddin) should set a good example and urge his son-in-law to return to Malaysia and face the (corruption) investigation that has been initiated.
“If he fails to do so, then he has no moral standing to talk about anything else.”
The communications minister was commenting on Muhyiddin’s statement claiming that the coalition government is on the verge of splitting up due to “conflict” between Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional leaders over former prime minister Najib Razak’s bid for house arrest.
The Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election was called following the death of assembylyman Lee Kee Hiong on March 21.
