Harakah reporter, 2 others arrested for trespassing on Selangor MB’s residence

A REPORTER believed to be the employee of PAS mouthpiece Harakah was arrested along with two others for trespassing on the Selangor menteri besar’s residence in Shah Alam yesterday.

According to Malaysiakini, the trio were apprehended at 5pm.

The report said the journalist had tried to walk into the residence of Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari but was stopped by the cops.

A spokesman for the Menteri Besar’s Office confirmed the incident.

“Yes, they were arrested by police and taken to the Section 6 police station in Shah Alam yesterday for trespassing,” said the official.

Shah Alam district police chief Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the three men would be remanded.

“I will provide more updates on the case after the remand hearing process,” he told the news portal.

In the police report lodged by the residence keeper, it is said that after the reporter was prevented from walking in through the gate, he had tried to sneak in by hiding in a car carrying two other people who were at the residence for a meeting.

However, the second attempt at entry was also foiled after cops inspected the sedan at the carpark. – January 2, 2024.

  • Shame on Havanas and the party that owns it. First they owe money and have not paid. Now they try to enter a rulers residence illegally. Have they no ethics, conscience, no better things to do?
