MUHAMMAD Sanusi Md Nor should focus on his tasks as the Kedah menteri besar instead of talking about the “Dubai Move”, Communication Minister Fahmi Fadzil said.
The government spokesman was commenting on Sanusi’s claim that the “Dubai Move” to topple the federal government would soon become reality.
The plan is for the opposition to persuade government MPs to switch sides.
“Before he talks about the Dubai Move, ask him what happened to the racing circuit in Kedah,” Fahmi said, referring to Sanusi, in a New Straits Times report today,
“Perhaps he should stop doing midnight karaoke with unknown women (on TikTok) and focus on governing his state.”
Fahmi said Sanusi should focus on issues such as the rare earths scandal in Kedah and the recent sensation surrounding the Kedah football club.
“I think he has a lot more problems; he’s a menteri besar, not a member of parliament.
“Let us focus on our respective tasks.”
On Wednesday, Sanusi confirmed that Perikatan Nasional was plotting to topple the federal government, but said the scheme should be called the “Chow Kit Move” instead of the “Dubai Move”, news reports said.
He said the move would exploit the loopholes in the anti-party hopping law.
“People are labelling (the plot) the Dubai Move, but it’s really the Chow Kit Move because it was discussed in Kuala Lumpur,” he said in a news conference.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has brushed off the alleged plot to topple the government.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the plot was real but scoffed at the attempt and called it a “waste of time”. – January 6, 2024.
