THE Health Ministry has urged the public to enable the sending of notifications on their MySejahtera app.

This is due to the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in the country in the past few weeks.

In a post on X, the ministry advised the public to turn on notifications to receive the latest updates on the Covid-19 situation.

Yesterday, Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the number of Covid-19 cases has increased by 62.2% to 20,696 between December 10 and 16.

However, he said there was no need for movement restrictions for now.

The government had imposed a movement control order (MCO) during the height of the pandemic to help curb the spread of the virus.

Dzulkefly said the ministry was prepared for a surge in hospitalisations and was ensuring adequate staff, supplies, and equipment to provide sufficient care.

He advised the public to undergo testing if they experienced symptoms and to consult doctors for antiviral treatments, if eligible.

The public was also urged to wear masks in crowded places and practise good hygiene. – December 19, 2023.
