GUA Musang MP Mohd Azizi Abu Naim said his support for the unity government is aimed at, among other things, assisting people in the constituency in accessing federal aid.

Azizi, who declared his support for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership on November 7, said he needed to collaborate with federal government agencies to help the public understand the assistance available, such as from the South Kelantan Development Authority (Kesedar) and the Federal Land Development Authority.

“In the last parliamentary session, Deputy Speaker Ramli Mohd Nor said Gua Musang is the most backward district in Kelantan. I have to accept the fact that more than or almost half of the voters in Gua Musang comprise settlers who depend on the federal government.

“Some of them do not understand or are not aware of the aid available. For example, allocations from the Rural and Regional Development Ministry channelled through Kesedar, so this is where we can help them,” he said when met by reporters at the Gua Musang MP’s office today.

Azizi, who is also Nenggiri assemblyman, expressed his readiness to collaborate with Galas assemblyman Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim from Barisan Nasional to develop the region.

So far, apart from Azizi, four MPs from Perikatan Nasional – Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan), and Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal (Bukit Gantang) – have declared their support for Anwar and the unity government. – Bernama, December 13, 2023.
