THE man who offered a RM5 million bounty to assassinate Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim did it for fun, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said.
He said police investigation showed the suspect is new to the social media platform TikTok.
“He is believed to have done it for fun,” said Razarudin.
“We are in the midst of completing the investigation papers and are expected to hand them over to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for further action on December 4,” he was quoted as telling The Star.
PKR youth member Mohamad Shazrin Ezam Mohd Saidi lodged a police report against the 34-year-old man at the Putrajaya Precinct 7 police station on Sunday.
In the now-deleted video, a man was seen holding a child while offering a RM5 million bounty to whoever was willing to assassinate the prime minister and his cabinet ministers. – November 30, 2023.
