ALL True Fitness and True Spa centres in Malaysia will be shutting down today as the business is no longer “financially viable”, the company announced today.
“The past few years have proved challenging, and unfortunately the businesses are no longer financially viable due to evolving market conditions,” the company said in a statement.
True Fitness said it had made arrangements with Chi Fitness to transfer memberships and personal training sessions and this can be done via online redemption. Members should email [email protected] for more information on their redemptions as Chi Fitness would not be able to answer queries on this matter.
“All terms of redemptions have been set by True Fitness Malaysia. We regret that Chi Fitness will not be able to facilitate service redemption queries,” the company said.
Redemption will start on July 3 and will be valid for 24 months or until either the membership period lapses or all personal training sessions have been utilised as the company is unable to refund in cash.
As for True Spa, the company is looking for a reputable service provider to service unutilised sessions and it will get in touch with members when it has more details.
True Fitness also abruptly closed its outlets in Thailand on Thursday, sparking outrage among members, Channel News Asia reports.
The company also blamed “evolving market conditions” for making its business no longer viable.
True Fitness, established in Singapore in 2004, had three outlets in Bangkok last year, CNA reports.
A True Fitness spokesman told TODAY online that the closures would not affect its Singapore outlets nor its expansion plans in China. – June 10, 2017.
