COMMUNICATIONS and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said he was considering filing a suit against those who defamed him over his comments about the recent Coldplay concert.

He said someone made a poster claiming he expressed the phrase “Alhamdulillah (praise be to God)” following the smooth progress of the concert at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Wednesday.

He said the poster was made based on a report of his comments about the concert.

“To me, this is defamatory, malicious, and taken out of context from what I said. My full reply to the reporter can be found on the news website.

“I will ask my lawyer to investigate all parties involved in disseminating this defamatory graphic poster, and we will take legal action against them… There are parties with motives to distort the facts from my statement,” he told a presser at the PKR National Congress at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre today.

Earlier, a viral Facebook post alleged Fahmi was grateful for the Coldplay concert, accompanied by a picture of the minister with the concert in the background, with the caption “Coldplay Concert: Alhamdulillah, running smoothly – Fahmi Fadzil”. – Bernama, November 26, 2023.
