MACC lodges police report over Bersatu leader’s TikTok post

THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today lodged a police report against a Bersatu leader who made a TikTok that allegedly slandered the commission.

MACC said in a statement Terengganu Bersatu leader Razali Idris made several false accusations against the agency in a clip posted by TikTok account @‌wancin11.

MACC said Razali made several false accusations during his speech at the launch of the Kemaman parliamentary by-election machinery on November 10.

It said he alleged that government agencies, the MACC and judges were controlled by the government.

Razali also questioned the High Court’s ruling in the conviction and sentencing of Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

“MACC views the slander and allegations seriously as it could undermine public confidence in the enforcement and legal system of this country.

“MACC is a law enforcement agency empowered to perform its role in combating corruption freely and professionally without being controlled by any party.

“Therefore, MACC hopes appropriate action can be immediately taken against those who make and spread such slander and allegations,” the commission said. – November 15, 2023.
