A TIGER attack at a rubber plantation in Gua Musang, Kelantan over the last two months has claimed a third victim, this time a Myanmar national.

Gua Musang police chief Sik Choong Foo said 22-year-old Ahka Soe Ya was attacked yesterday at a rubber plantation in Meranto.

“He was out on the plantation with his wife when the incident occurred about 1.30pm,” he said in a statement.

Several workers later rushed the victim to the Gua Musang Hospital where he died of serious head injuries.

Last Friday, a tiger mauled an Indonesian man, who was also a rubber tapper, in Kuala Wok, near Pos Pasik.

Early last month, an Orang Asli man was found dead, with a leg missing in the Pos Pasik forest and with animal scratch marks on his head and body.

The Wildlife and National Parks Department has since set up traps in the area to capture the animal. – November 12, 2023.
