DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng wants Perikatan Nasional’s top leaders to state their stand on Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Mohamad’s slander against DAP and its leaders.

Lim said Siti Mastura had created the false impression of family ties to incite fears of DAP and the Chinese in her speech at an event in Kemaman on November 4.

He said this was clearly racist and extremist, adding that he had instructed his lawyer to initiate legal proceedings against the PAS leader.

“What makes Siti Mastura’s irresponsible behaviour more unacceptable is there is no remorse from her that she had made a hate speech full of outrageous lies, racist and extremist. 

“She has refused to show proof of the alleged family ties nor recanted or apologised for her outrageous lies and malicious slander,” Lim said in a statement.

More importantly, he said, PAS supporters continued to support and praise Siti Mastura, without being bothered that she had lied and made racist and extremist statements against DAP leaders.

“For this reason, both PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin must state their position publicly, whether they stand together with the outrageous lies and malicious slander of Siti Mastura or disagree with her, thus requiring that she correct her actions,” he said.

In a severely criticised speech, Siti Mastura had, among other things, said Lim’s family was related to the late Communist Party Malaya leader Chin Peng as well as the late Singapore prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.

She had called the ex-Singapore PM ‘Lim’ Kuan Yew to justify her claims that they were related.

She had added that several DAP leaders were also related to the Lim family, suggesting that the family’s Chinese agenda was to impose DAP’s principles in Malaysia. – November 10, 2023.
