THE Sandakan branch of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry seized 864kg of frozen meat products worth RM17,302, suspected to be mixed with pork, in a raid today.

Chief enforcement officer Azdy Zukkry John said the operation was mounted with the Sabah Veterinary Services Department and Sandakan Health Office.

“We will send samples to the Chemistry Department to confirm whether the items or the products are pork.

“We received information that these products are sold to restaurants. We will investigate,” he told reporters after the raid. – Bernama, November 9, 2023.
