SHEILA Sharon Steven Kumar, better known as “Inspector Sheila”, was charged at the magistrates’ court with causing public nuisance.
Sheila claimed trial to the offence before magistrate Illi Marisqa Khalizan.
She was charged with committing public nuisance by honking repeatedly as well as screaming at Nuraihan Nadzifah Ibrahim.
The offence allegedly took place near the parking lot at a shopping mall in Brickfields at 5.26pm on June 16.
The charge, under section 268 of the penal code, carries a fine of up to RM400.
Deputy public prosecutor Zuhairi Osman prosecuted while lawyer M. Manoharan appeared for the accused.
The court set RM500 bail with one surety.
The 35-year-old woman is currently facing three charges of threatening and tarnishing the reputation of a lance corporal and two civilians.
Last week, Sheila was granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal for insulting the modesty of her colleague.
The court allowed the appeal by Sheila on grounds that the charge had not been read to her, and a plea not taken, before a magistrate as required by law.
She was previously charged under section 509 of the penal code, over her inappropriate remarks about the rank of lance corporal to policeman Farhan Abdul Razak at Taman Sri Gombak at noon on June 15.
Meanwhile, at another magistrates’ court in Selayang, Sheila was charged under the same provision of law with intentionally insulting the modesty of lawyer P. Taneswaran, 31.
She faces up to five years in jail, a fine, or both.
Sheila also claimed trial to criminal intimidation against civilian M. Silverkoomarie, an offence under section 506 of the penal code, which carries a penalty of up to two years’ jail, a fine, or both.
Both offences were allegedly committed at Taman Sri Gombak on June 15. – November 8, 2023.
