MALAYSIAN exporters should take advantage of the bilateral free trade agreement with New Zealand and growing diversification interest from Fiji businesses and increase their exports to the two countries, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) director for China, Northeast Asia, Asean and Oceania Mazlan Harun said.
He said New Zealand and Fiji were among Malaysia’s four largest trading partners in the region.
“With economic recovery underway, Matrade leverages digital platforms to accelerate the export of Malaysian products and services to New Zealand and Fiji via the Virtual Export Acceleration Mission (EAM) from November 8 to 10, 2023.
“As a continuation of the EAM in 2019, the upcoming mission will offer Malaysian companies a platform to explore potential export opportunities for education services, food and beverages, household products and medical disposables,” Matrade said in a statement today.
It said the upcoming EAM would allow five Malaysian companies to expand their footprints in the region via market updates, pitching sessions and business meetings with potential importers from the two island nations.
Matrade said it would always assist Malaysian companies to expand their business opportunities via its Melbourne office.
It said Malaysian companies, including micro, small and medium enterprises, should contact Matrade Melbourne via email at [email protected] to seek assistance on expanding into Oceania. – Bernama, November 7, 2023.
