POLICE have arrested a local man suspected of making criminal threats against Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek on social media yesterday.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, in a statement today, said the 28-year-old, believed to be the account holder or operator of the X account @syahmisufi8, was arrested in Setapak.

He said four police reports were lodged over the matter.

He urged the public not to speculate on the case as it could affect investigations.

“The police also remind the public to be vigilant and careful with regard to sensitive issues, especially when using social media,” he said, adding that the suspect has been remanded for three days until Monday. – Bernama, November 4, 2023.
