Dewan Rakyat to discuss Malaysia’s stand on WHO pandemic treaty

THE government’s position on the Pandemic Treaty of the World Health Organization Convention Agreement and the amendment of the International Health Regulations will be discussed in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Shaharizukirnain Abd Kadir (Setiu-PN) will pose the question to the health minister during Minister’s Question Time.

At the same session, Chiew Choon Man (Miri-PH) will ask the Communications and Digital Ministry on immediate action to overcome the issue of naked towers in Sarawak to ensure availability of internet access services and communication networks.

Apart from that, Cha Kee Chin (Rasah-PH) will ask the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry on whether it will increase the quota of 60,000 tonnes of subsidised packet oil, implemented since 2016, given that the retail market is always facing a shortage of supply.

After the session, the Dewan Rakyat will resume the ministerial winding-up at policy level for the Supply Bill 2024.

The debate on the bill at committee level is scheduled for 12 days from November 6 to 27.

The current Dewan Rakyat sits until November 30. – Bernama, November 2, 2023.
