Annuar Musa named PAS deputy election chief

PAS has named former Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa as its deputy election chief, six months after he joined the Islamist party, Free Malaysia Today reports.

Annuar reportedly said PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan conveyed the decision to him after a party meeting yesterday.

The former Ketereh MP also said he will meet with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and party election chief Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor to discuss his new role.

“I would like to thank the president and the committee for the trust placed in me. I will try to give my best as a member,” Annuar was quoted as saying by the news portal.

Annuar was previously expelled from Umno in December last year, and joined PAS in June.

He was formerly communications and multimedia minister. – November 1, 2023.
