MALAYSIAN households have high access to water and electricity, showed the Basic Amenities Survey Report released by the Statistics Department today.
The report said the percentage of residential access to tap water was 96.7% and household accessibility to electricity supply was 99.7% in 2022.
Chief statistician Mohd Uzir Mahidin in a statement said nearly 98% of Malaysian households were less than 5km from public health institutions.
He said 98.5% of households were less than 5km from primary schools, while 95.3% were less than 5km from secondary schools. The report showed 97.4% of households were less than 5km from public kindergartens..
Uzir said house ownership stood at 76.5% in 2022, while 20.3% were renting homes in 2022. – Bernama, October 31, 2023.
