A SENIOR citizen was killed when a tree fell on his car during a storm in Kampung Bukit Payong near Pokok Sena, Alor Setar, this evening.

Fireman Shahrin Musa said a team rushed to the scene of the incident at 3.20pm after receiving the distress call.

A tree fell and crushed the Hyundai vehicle of Ooi Book Khak, 74, trapping him and causing him to lose consciousness.

“We used special tools and a bulldozer to extract the victim, but he was already dead.

“The case has been handed over to the police,” he said in a statement today, adding that the fallen tree was cleared by 5pm. – Bernama, October 29, 2023.
