THE police have released a 62-year-old lawyer who was detained last Thursday in connection with the investigation into i-Serve and MYAirline.

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said the individual was released on Friday at the Pudu police station at about 9pm.

“However, he will be called up again to complete the recording of his statement,” Ramli said.

He also said the remand for a 33-year-old woman, who worked at i-Serve Technology & Vacation Sdn Bhd in 2013 as a finance assistant, and a 48-year-old man who worked at the same company as a research and development manager in 2006, is expected to end today.

The remand for the fourth suspect, a 30-year-old woman, will expire tomorrow.

It was previously reported that the latest four suspects detained in connection with the investigation into MYAirline and i-Serve have been remanded.

Three of the latest suspects were detained outside the CCID headquarters at Jalan Tun Razak at around 1pm on Thursday.

The fourth suspect – believed to be the lawyer – was detained at Bukit Tunku on the same day.

These individuals are being investigated over the sudden collapse of MYAirline, which had to suspend its services two weeks ago due to financial issues. The police probe centres on money laundering, among others. – October 29, 2023.
