DAP representatives who fail to perform their duty will be replaced, party secretary-general Anthony Loke said.

Speaking at the Perak DAP annual convention in Ipoh today, Loke said these representatives must remember that they were chosen by the voters.

He told them not to put the party to shame.

DAP has 40 members of parliament and 90 state assemblymen in 10 states which includes ministers and state exco members. It also has scores of appointed local councillors and village heads.

“We need to remember the mandate given to us by the voters, they trusted us. We should not take this responsibility lightly. All DAP members must work hard and remember our duty to serve the public,” said Loke, who is the transport minister.

“In Perak alone, we have two ministers and four state executive council members, 99 local councillors and over 100 village chiefs. 

“The most important thing is to remind ourselves everyday why we are doing this and to remember the responsibility we hold,” he said.

He also reminded the party’s new faces to work together with the current leaders and not against them. – October 29, 2023.
