THREE men, believed to have been involved in a fight that resulted in the death of a local man in Jalan Trus, Johor Baru yesterday, were arrested by police a few hours later, at 5.30am.

Johor Baru Selatan district police chief Raub Selamat said the suspects were spotted behaving suspiciously in a car in the Jalan Tanjung Puteri area.

He said when police attempted to conduct an inspection, the driver sped off to Jalan Tun Dr Ismail before losing control of the car and crashing it.

“Upon checking the car, police found two knives, two shirts, two pants and three handphones,” Raub said in a statement today.

“A check on the suspects’ background found one of them had two drug-related cases while all three suspects tested positive for methamphetamine.”

Earlier, police were tracking down eight people believed to be involved in the murder, which occurred between 12.45am and 1.08am yesterday, before receiving information from the public at 3.41am on the same day. – Bernama, October 28, 2023.
