THE 116 internet-related complaints received by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) from 16 MPs would be addressed by service providers and monitored by state MCMC offices, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said.

He said on Facebook that the complaints were received over three days after the MCMC opened a complaint centre in the Parliament building.

He said between October 23 and 25 alone, 111 MPs visited the centre with reports of the internet speed in their constituencies.

“Let me express my sincere gratitude to all MPs who have cooperated with the ministry to ensure quality internet services.

“God willing, we will continue this cooperation to improve the quality of internet services in Malaysia,” he said.

The infographic which he uploaded with the post showed Hulu Selangor had the highest number of complaints at 68, followed by Bangi (16) and Kota Melaka (nine).

Other constituencies with complaints were Kimanis, Pulai, and Rantau Panjang. – Bernama, October 27, 2023.
