RAFIZI Ramli has successfully undergone a heart stent procedure, cabinet colleague Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said.

Saifuddin, who is also Rafizi’s PKR comrade and party secretary-general, said he learned from those close to the economy minister that the procedure was done last week.

“I have yet to speak to him or visit him in hospital as we were told that Rafizi is not allowed to accept visitors for now,” he was quoted as saying by The Star Online today after a function to celebrate the National Registration Department’s 75th anniversary.

Saifuddin wished the PKR deputy president a speedy recovery and advised him to get enough rest.

“Knowing Rafizi, he can be rather degil (stubborn). If one is required to take two weeks of medical leave, he will only take one.

“That’s how he is. He is very dedicated and hardworking. But as an abang (elder brother), I will advise him to rest,” he was quoted as saying in the report.

On October 21, Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa reportedly said the Pandan MP’s condition was improving after suffering from a heart ailment recently.

“I received news that he is getting better. I pray and hope he can return to his duties soon,” she said.

The Pandan MP had reportedly suffered a heart attack and was rushed to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for treatment. – October 25, 2023.
