THE Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission is meeting with TikTok’s parent company to discuss alleged censorship of content on the Israel-Hamas war.
Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the meeting will be held tomorrow.
“TikTok is getting nervous because we will be meeting with its parent company,” he said after attending the “Malaysia Stands with Palestine” rally at Axiata Arena last night.
Social media users have said that content with words linked to the Middle Eastern conflict, such as “Hamas”, was automatically taken down by TikTok.
On the rally, Fahmi said the turnout of over 15,000 people was a sign of strong support for the Palestinians.
“I hope this good turnout will to inspire all Malaysians,” he said.
Fahmi reminded those who wish to donate to the Palestinians to beware of scammers. – October 25, 2023.
