THE Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (JBPMKL) confirmed that there was a minor explosion at the Menara Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang (LPP) near Bukit Tunku today. 

A spokesman said the explosion involved a low-voltage room at basement 1 of the building and they received the emergency call at 2pm before sending seven members from the Sentul Fire and Rescue Station to the location nine minutes later.  

“The commander confirmed a two-foot-wide hole resulting from the explosion, with no reported injuries. The explosion was caused by an underground cable fire. 

“All LPP staff have been confirmed safe and were allowed to enter the building at 2.55pm today,” the spokesman said. – Bernama, October 24, 2023.
