THE public is reminded to adhere to traffic rules and regulations when participating in any rally in the city.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Allaudeen Abdul Majid said the reminder was necessary after police observed individuals waving flags and placards while riding motorcycles, which could endanger other road users.

“Waving placards while riding a motorcycle is against the law as it could endanger other road users,” he told reporters after attending the KL Police monthly assembly at the KL Police Contingent headquarters here today.

He said KL Police would also implement traffic operations around the city to ensure public compliance with the traffic rules and regulations.

At the same time, Allaudeen said police are ready to ensure the smooth running of the “Malaysia with Palestine” rally slated to be held at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil  tonight.

The rally, organised by the Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement and Global Peace Malaysia, is expected to run from 6pm to 11pm and involve more than 40 civil society groups.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to deliver a special message at the rally, which aims to show Malaysia’s solidarity with Palestinians. – Bernama, October 24, 2023.
