PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang today told party leaders to be fair and avoid engaging in politics driven by vengeance.
He said they must not resort to taking revenge on those who had been hostile towards the party in the past.
“We have been victims of persecution, and it taught us a valuable lesson so that we don’t do the same when we become the government.
“Do not seek revenge, and take it as a lesson in our struggle,” he said in his winding-up speech at the 69th PAS Muktamar in Shah Alam today.
Hadi said the four PAS-led states – Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan and Terengganu – should set an example of this.
He told the delegates to be prepared for the next general election while extending support to its leaders who had been elected to public office.
“The party must assist the government. Don’t be the opposition when the party is already the ruling government,” he said.
“Don’t sink our own ship. Instead of pointing out weaknesses, help address and solve them.” – October 22, 2023.
