THOUSANDS gathered at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur today in a peaceful rally to show solidarity with the Palestinians.

The crowd, from diverse backgrounds, including foreigners, waved placards with messages such as “Free Palestine”, “Stop the Genocide in Gaza” and “We Support Palestine”, calling for an end to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

The “Freedom for Palestine” rally was organised by Viva Palestina Malaysia and Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCare).

“In 2014, we gathered at this same place to support the struggle of the oppressed Palestinian people.

“Today, we have gathered again to condemn (the attacks) and pressure the countries, including Israel, to stop the attacks,” said MyCare honorary adviser Dr Hafidzi Md Noor.

Among those present were Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil and former Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar. – October 22, 2023.
