PAS must build on its green wave success and move forward if it wants to win the next general election, party election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said.

He said the it must explore new horizons, break away from traditional politics and draw up a game plan to woo young voters.

“PAS must venture onto the other side of the fence to be in a new zone and vary its political manoeuvres. It must not confine itself to traditional politics.

“The party must draft (plans) in all states to move forward until it reaches the next level to rule at least one more state, either Perak or Pahang,” he said in his closing speech at the 69th Muktamar in Shah Alam, today.

He said strategic planning under the leadership of president Abdul Hadi Awang has led the Islamist party to become a kingmaker in Malaysian politics and PAS members must capitalise on that.

“PAS must position itself in Malaysia’s mainstream politics and one approach is to ensure that it does not employ ‘boring’ politics so it can capture young voters.

“Almost 100% of the ‘market’ at mosques and surau is dominated by PAS and it must be further expanded for the future of the party,” said the Kedah menteri besar.

He said the party must capture young voters who not members of any political party because they hold voting power.

”This is the market that PAS needs to dominate in our future political journey,” he said. – October 22, 2023.
