CONGRESS of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) president Adnan Mat has reminded civil servants to comply with the new expenditure control directive.
He said simple changes to everyone’s daily routine, no matter how small, could help save electricity and office stationery.
“Cuepacs calls on all civil servants, especially department heads, to follow the expenditure control directive issued by the government.”
Adnan was referring to a directive to reduce financial commitments and avoid wastage, which was issued to all government agencies today.
The directive, which was authorised by Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali, included an instruction to hold only necessary events, optimise the use of electricity, water and office equipment, and prevent wasting food and beverages during events.
Adnan said civil servants should have no problem complying with the directive as it is not something new, with the same guidelines issued by the Finance Ministry last year. – Bernama, October 19, 2023.
