PERIKATAN Nasional secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin must not make accusations without proof, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said, after the former alleged that the Kuala Kangsar MP was threatened into supporting the unity government.
Anwar said Hamzah must back his claims with evidence.
“If there is evidence, he has to show it. All I know is that I have not met, contacted or sent a representative to (meet Iskandar). I don’t know who threatened him.
“This is a serious accusation. He (Hamzah) should file a report and there should be an investigation,” Anwar said today.
Last week, opposition leader Hamzah said Iskandar Dzulkarnain was coerced into backing the government so that it would regain the supermajority it lost when Muda left the unity coalition. – October 17, 2023.
