A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy was found dead in a washing machine at a house in Kampung Sungai Tapah Tambahan, Ipoh, yesterday morning.

Ipoh district police chief Yahaya Hassan said a report of the discovery was received at 11.44am. 

“His grandmother found him unconscious in the washing machine around 9.30am,” he said in a statement last night.

An ambulance took the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy showed the cause of death was blunt trauma to the head, said Yahaya.

The case is being investigated under section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for child neglect and endangerment. – Bernama, October 17, 2023.
