A BEECHCRAFT King Air B200T skidded off the runway at the Subang airport this afternoon as it made an emergency landing over an issue with the landing gear.
The craft from the air force’s 16th squadron skidded off the runway shortly after it landed at 12.54pm.
In a statement, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) chief Norazman Mahmud confirmed the four crew onboard were not hurt.
“The pilot in command contacted Subang Air Traffic Control Tower on an issue pertaining to the aircraft’s landing gear and requested assistance to land.
“The tower notified the Subang Airport Fire and Rescue Services to activate the Airport Emergency Plan and provide emergency assistance to the aircraft upon landing,” he said.
He said the aircraft was being removed, and a full inspection of the runway would be performed.
The runway was expected to reopen to flights at 5pm.
Norazman said CAAM would probe into the incident. – October 16, 2023.
