SOME 10,000 passengers have been affected by the sudden suspension of MYAirline’s operations this morning, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said.

In a statement, MAHB said the service suspension impacted passengers on 39 domestic flights and one international flight to Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, Thailand.

“Malaysia Airports has deployed its resources at relevant airports within its network to extend all possible assistance to stranded MYAirline (Z9) passengers following the announcement of their operations suspension earlier this morning.

“Relevant notices have been put up at the terminals and airport staff are on ground to offer assistance on alternative flight options by other carriers. At KL International Airport, resting areas have been provided at Terminal 2 on level 3 and Anjung Tinjau Terminal 1 on level 2 so that passengers can wait for their next flight comfortably,” it said in the statement.

It said passengers not at the airport should not come to the airport and should instead explore alternative flight options from other carriers through the respective airlines’ websites.

MYAirline announced early this morning it had suspended operations until further notice.

Since then three carriers – Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia and Batik Air – have stepped in to offer assistance and discounts to affected passengers. – October 12, 2023.
