A TOTAL of 1,912 reserve candidates in the healthcare sectors have been given permanent positions by the Public Service Department (PSD), the Health Ministry (MOH) announced today.
The appointment comprises 1,226 medical officers, 216 dentists and 470 pharmacists.
“The appointments are in line with the balance of vacancies available and approval for permanent appointments for the year 2023,” MOH in a statement today.
The ministry will employ the PSD Appointment Offer System over 21 days, starting October 2.
The advanced system is designed to facilitate the smooth dissemination and acceptance of offers.
To ensure transparency in the implementation, MOH said all candidates are given liberty to choose their placements online through the e-placement or e-houseman system for medical officers, e-dentist system for dental officers and e-pharmacist for pharmacists.
The ministry, in its statement, said the number of vacancies in the Klang Valley and Federal Territories is limited and couples can plan and choose placements outside the Klang Valley, including in the rural areas of the peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak.
“This is also good as it reduces the cost of living and officers are entitled to various incentive payments and will have a different working experience,” the it added.
Earlier Hartal Doktor Kontrak urged Putrajaya to set aside more funding in Budget 2024 for doctors to get permanent jobs.
The group said the issue is of great concern to the 15,000 contract doctors in the country. – October 10, 2023.
