DEPUTY Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof said the Perikatan Nasional (PN) lawmakers, who have been chosen to hold negotiations with him on the amount of allocation that opposition MPs should receive, have yet to do so.
Fadillah said he has yet to receive any official letter from the MPs involved to hold any meeting.
“The only one to have met me was Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (Muar), (those) from PN not yet, no official letters from them and I am (still) waiting.
“I’ve held meetings with them but regarding other matters,” he told reporters after officiating the National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN) Golden Jubilee celebration in Kota Baru yesterday.
In April, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man was reported to have said that three PN lawmakers – opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin, Kota Bharu MP Takiyuddin Hassan and Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin – had been appointed to hold negotiations with Fadillah.
Meanwhile, commenting on government measures to continue the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 using a different training module, Fadillah said the move was necessary to boost the spirit of nationalism among the youth.
He added that it was also to raise the level of military discipline as “we need youths who are brave and, at the same time, have a high spirit of patriotism”.
During the question-and-answer session at the Dewan Rakyat today, Defence Minister Mohamad Hasan said the PLKN 3.0 would also require youths to undergo training in military camps. – Bernama, October 10, 2023.
