MALAYSIA has 5,873 5G sites providing 70.2% coverage in the populated areas, as of September 30.
Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said there were 2.49 million 5G subscribers, equivalent to a 7.4% adoption rate.
“Six mobile service providers are offering 5G plans, namely CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, Telekom Malaysia, YTL Communications and Yoodo,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat today.
He was responding to a question from Johari Abdul Ghani (Titiwangsa-BN) on the 5G network.
Fahmi said special-purpose vehicle Digital Nasional Bhd has set a target of 7,509 5G sites nationwide. – Bernama, October 9, 2023.
