AWANG Alik Jeman, finance and development deputy secretary-general in the Prime Minister’s Department (PMD), has been promoted to senior deputy secretary-general, effective today.
Cabinet deputy secretary-general Abdul Halim Hamzah will replace him, the PMD said in a statement.
Awang Alik, 56, has a master’s degree in public administration from the Universiti Malaya. He has served in the public service for 25 years starting as an administrative and diplomatic officer in 1998.
He has worked in the Public Service Department, the Parliament of Malaysia, Defence Ministry and Rural and Regional Development Ministry.
Halim, 52, who holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Universiti Putra Malaysia has served for 27 years in the civil service. – Bernama, October 2, 2023.
