BUKIT Aman has yet to make a red notice application for Interpol’s assistance to arrest former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s son-in-law as it is still waiting for additional information from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the police still needed to a few more “technical” information before an official request could be made with Interpol.
“There are a few technical things that we are waiting for from the MACC.
“Once we have all the information, we will make an official request with Interpol,” he was quoted as saying in New Straits Times today.
It is learnt that an application has been sent over to Interpol but the agency is requesting more information prior to the name listing, reported NST.
This includes information pertaining to the laws and offences involved in the case.
Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain had previously confirmed that Bukit Aman had received a request for assistance from the anti-graft agency to place Muhyiddin’s son-in-law Muhammad Adlan Berhan’s name in the Interpol red notice list.
Adlan, 48, and lawyer Mansor Saat, 69, are being investigated by the MACC in relation to misappropriation in the registration, recruitment and biometric storage of foreign workers in a ministry. – September 29, 2023.
