THE Melaka Museum Corporation (Perzim) has introduced an entrance pass package for tourists to visit all museums under its supervision with a single fee.

State Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture Committee deputy chairman Zaidi Attan said in the first phase, the entrance pass can be used to visit five museums – the Melaka Art Gallery, Youth Museum, History and Ethnography Museum, Flor de Lar Mar Maritime Museum and Naval Museum, all for RM30.

“We are also planning to introduce the second phase of the entrance pass to visit five more museums, including the People’s Museum, Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum and Stamp Museum.

“The use of this entrance pass not only facilitates visitors and tourists to visit all 20 museums and eight galleries under Perzim’s supervision, but also helps save on ticket fees,” he told reporters in Malacca today.

He said the entrance fee for all the museums could ensure the heritage buildings or assets are well maintained.

Zaidi also said various historical reenactments would be staged in February in conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2024.

“These historical enactments will be based on documentation from the National Archives and will be carried out in collaboration with the National Unity Ministry,” he said.

He said the effort was aimed at educating the people and tourists about Malacca’s history. – Bernama, September 23, 2023.
