SOLICITOR-General II Almalena Sharmila Johan has been appointed the solicitor-general effective October 2, said Attorney-General Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh.

He said Suzana Atan has been appointed as solicitor-general II to replace Almalena, also effective October 2.

“The appointments are in line with the Directive on the Transfer of Legal Officers No 107 and 108/2023. All members of the Attorney-General’s Chambers congratulate this appointment,” he said in a statement today.

Almalena, who was the Attorney-General’s Chambers’ (AGC) Advisory Division head, was appointed solicitor-general to replace Terrirudin, who officially started his duties as attorney-general on September 6.

Almalena, representing the AGC, joined Law and Institutional Reform Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Azalina Othman Said and Malaysian Ambassador to Spain Akmal Che Mustafa on a trip to Madrid to handle Sulu claimants’ suit.

Suzana was a senior federal counsel who handled civil cases and election petitions. – Bernama, September 20, 2023.
