MUHYIDDIN Yassin has accused the unity government of selective prosecution in race, religion and royalty (3R) issues.
“I have been investigated several times by police and faced criminal prosecution simply because I voiced the concerns of the Malay and Muslim community.
“But leaders on the other side who allegedly issued negative statements, including making racist sentiments, were not touched even after dozens, even hundreds, of police reports were made against them,” said the Pagoh MP.
Yesterday, police took Muhyiddin’s statement over a speech he made before the Pulai by-election.
It was alleged the former prime minister’s speech touched on 3R issues.
In his speech, Muhyiddin reportedly said it was “haram” to vote for Pakatan Harapan in the Pulai polls.
The Perikatan Nasional chairman also berated the current government, calling its policies worse than those of the British colonists.
“As a Malay leader, am I considered a criminal simply for voicing the interests of the Malays and Muslims?
“Since when can’t a Malay leader in this country talk about the interests of the Malays and Islam?
“The British colonists left our country a long time ago, but it seems policies implemented by the current government are worse than colonial policies,” he said in parliament today. – September 13, 2023.
