WEE Ka Siong will be challenged by former central committee member Tan Chong Seng for the post of MCA president in the party polls on September 24.
Wee wrote on his Facebook page today this showed the process of democracy was well and alive in the party.
“Thank you for the trust in me to defend the post of MCA president for the party election this time. I appeal to the delegates to give me the mandate so I can continue to develop the party and implement reforms accordingly,” said Wee.
Wee said as stated in the manifesto, he would introduce and implement three major reforms to revive and rebuild the party.
“I will do my best to make sure MCA becomes stronger and is able to provide better services to the people. To the delegates, I, Wee Ka Siong, candidate number 2, am pleading for votes from all of you,” he said.
MCA will hold polls for its central committee on September 24 and its youth and women’s wings on September 23. The annual general assembly is on October 21 and 22. – Bernama, September 11, 2023.
