DAP national chairman Lim Guan Eng reminded party members today that no individual is bigger than the party.

“Don’t forget that you must comply with the party’s every decision.

“Don’t think you are bigger than the party because without the party you don’t have a chance to hold a government position.

“Only a disciplined and united party can continue to be strong, which can guarantee victory in the next general election,” the Bagan lawmaker said in his opening speech at the party’s national convention in Putrajaya today.

Although Lim did not reveal any names, it is believed that he was taking aim at several past members who aired their dissatisfaction at the party for not naming them as candidates in the August six-state elections.

Among those who quit the party after they were left out from the nomination line-up were former Penang deputy chief minister II P. Ramasamy, former Bagan Dalam assemblyman M. Satees, and former Kampung Jawa Auto City DAP branch chief David Marshel.

DAP also dropped executive councillors Phee Boon Poh, Chong Eng, Yeoh Soon Hin and Soon Lip Chee.

In the elections, DAP won 46 out of 47 seats contested. – September 10, 2023.
