PENANG’s new ferry service will charge passengers as low as RM1 for a one-way trip from tomorrow.

In a statement today, Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB) said passengers or pedestrians aged 12 and below will be charged RM1, while passengers above 12 will be charged RM2.

“Cyclists will be charged RM2, while motorcyclists will need to pay RM2.50.

To ensure seamless journeys, PPSB said it would introduce monthly passes from tomorrow, which will include discounts.

“This initiative aims to provide added value and convenience to our loyal users,” said the statement.

The new ferry service was offered for free for a month from August 7. – Bernama, September 6, 2023.
