MALAYSIAN Anti-Corruption Commission chief Azam Baki said the agency will further investigate the case of criminal breach of trust, corruption and money laundering related to Yayasan Akalbudi (YAB) funds.

He said this to reporters after launching the National Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Research Conference in Sepang today.

On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) on his 47 criminal breach of trust, graft and money laundering charges in relation to YAB funds.

The decision was made by judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah after hearing 11 submissions by deputy public prosecutor Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar linked to halting the trial.

Yesterday, the Attorney-General’s Chambers said the prosecution’s application for Zahid to be granted a DNAA on the 47 charges was made based on the submissions accepted by the court. – Bernama, September 6, 2023.
