ALL 45 Kelantan assemblymen took their oath of office at the state assembly sitting at Kota Darulnaim, Kota Baru today.

Kelantan Menteri Besar Mohd Nassuruddin Daud (Meranti-PN) was the first to be sworn in before newly appointed Speaker Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, followed by nine state executive councillors.

Former menteri besar Ahmad Yakob (Pasir Pekan-PN) then took his oath, followed by former state executive councillor Wan Roslan Wan Hamat (Pengkalan Kubor-PN).

Earlier, Nassuruddin proposed Amar (Panchor-PN) as the speaker and Mohamed Farid Mohamed Zawawi (Kok Lanas-PN) as deputy speaker, and his nominations were supported by Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan (Temangan-PN), who is also deputy menteri besar.

In the recent state elections in Kelantan, PAS and its Perikatan Nasional partner Bersatu won 43 of the 45 seats contested to form the state government. – Bernama, September 5, 2023.
