VISITORS attending the National Day 2023 celebration in Putrajaya on August 31 are advised to use public transport for a smooth journey to the venue.
Communications and Digital Ministry secretary-general Fauzi Md Isa also advised the public to look after their safety and that of their children. An estimated 100,000 visitors are expected to attend the celebration on Thursday.
“In our joy to celebrate National Day, we should pay attention to our safety by following all traffic rules and orders from the authorities.
“We also have feeder buses, the Nadi Putra bus will start service as early as 4am and they will be in service till 2pm. There are two pick up points – at Putrajaya Sentral and Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) every 10 minutes, he said on the RTM’s “Selamat Pagi Malaysia” programme today.
On the celebration, Fauzi said more than 16,000 participants from 65 contingents from various agencies will participate in the 2023 National Day celebration parade.
“The major events such as the launch of the ‘Fly the Jalur Gemilang’ campaign, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s address in conjunction with National Day this Wednesday, the National Day celebration and the celebration of Malaysia Day.
“In addition, we have various other events such as the Jalur Gemilang tour convoy with a flag handover, an inter-ministry programme and the commemoration of statesman Tun Dr Ismail (Abdul Rahman),” he said. – Bernama, August 28, 2023.
