IJM Toll Division started testing the open toll payment system (OTPS) on the Sungai Besi Expressway (Besraya) and New Pantai Expressway (NPE) today.

Its chief operating officer Chua Lay Hoon said the pilot test is in line with the government’s move to provide highway users with alternative payment methods.

“OTPS allows highway users to pay toll using debit, credit or prepaid cards in addition to existing methods such as Touch ‘n Go (TnG), SmartTag and RFID.

“During the pilot test, lanes that provide OTPS can be identified through special signs on the gantry to help motorists,” she said in a statement.

She urged Besraya and NPE users to ensure their cards have sufficient balance.

She said users can use other bank or TnG cards if a transaction using a particular card fails.

“IJM Toll Division hopes the implementation of the OTPS can provide convenience to highway users while helping launch new toll collection systems,” she said. – Bernama, August 27, 2023.
